Megacolon in Infant

I am frequently consulted regarding a child's poor health, and also for opinions on matters such as antibiotics, ear infections, vaccination, learning and language problems and spinal problems.
Five year old Grant (his name has been changed) had all of the above.Constipated since birth, he rarely went to the toilet more than once a week. He lacked language skills. His little tummy was bloated like a starving child's.
His parents had tried medical help, but herbs were the only thing that seemed to get the bowel going so far. She then heard about chiropractic ierano.
We conducted a thorough exam. My greatest worry was serious disease where nerves are missing from the bowel (Hirschprung's). Spinal problems were found. After one spinal correction he went to the toilet the same day. After the next visit he passed his largest stool ever, on the next day.
I still wanted to see more tests, however, so sent him for the opinion of a local pediatrician who referred him for further evaluation to the hospital.
Grant is continuing under our care and goes to the toilet frequently now. He has a long way to go to heal, but his family sees the extraordinary benefits of chiropractic.
We want the best of care for our children. Health is a birth right that sometimes needs to be sought out, brought out, and helped by different doctors working together for the benefit of the patient.

Seen below, is an x ray of Grant's colon, of interest to doctors and health workers.

paediatric
As you can see, when compared to the lower spine and sacrum (at left), this child's colon is around half the width of his lower abdomen.
This is an astounding x ray.
No wonder this poor child had problems... And it may be years before this completely heals.
